Meet Our Staff
Jody: Hygienist
Jody grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Jefferson High School. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with her dental assisting degree in 1987. In 1990 she graduated from Hawkeye Technical College in Waterloo with a degree in dental hygiene. Jody is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a local anesthesia certification. Since graduation she has worked in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area and for Family SmileCare Center, P.L.C. since 1999. Jody is married with 3 children. She enjoys being active in her children’s school including homeroom mom and sports including coaching basketball, soccer and softball.
Stephanie: Hygienist
Stephanie grew up in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and has a younger brother. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an AA in science in 1998 and from Hawkeye Community College with an AA in Dental Hygiene in 2001. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a local anesthesia certification. Stephanie is married and has three children. She enjoys playing with her children, reading, and gardening.
Krista: Hygienist
Krista grew up on a farm in northern Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Dental Hygiene in 1995. After a short time in the Chicago area, Krista moved back to Cedar Rapids to continue practicing dental hygiene. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a local anesthesia certification. She is married and has three children. She enjoys family and friends, traveling, reading, and being outdoors.
Brenda: Assistant
Brenda is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College. She is a Registered Dental Assistant with an x-ray certification. Brenda started her dental assisting career with Dr. David Wolf and continues working with Dr. Maikon and Dr. Stodola at Family SmileCare Center, P.L.C. Brenda and her husband have two married sons and five grandchildren. She enjoys time with family, bicycle riding, cross country skiing, and sewing.
Teresa: Assistant
Teresa has been a dental assistant for over 18 years. She worked as an assistant and receptionist for twelve years in Chicago before moving back home to Cedar Rapids. Teresa became part of the Family SmileCare Center, P.L.C. team 8 years ago as a Registered Dental Assistant. She enjoys listening to music and traveling.
Katie: Assistant
Katie grew up in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Urbandale HS. She moved to Cedar Rapids in 2007 and attended Kirkwood Community college. She graduated Kirkwood with an AA in science and from the dental assisting program in 2010. She is a registered dental assistant with an x-ray certification. As well as being a dental assistant, Katie also works at Granite City as a part-time server. She enjoyes spending time with family and friends.
Tiffany: Assistant
Tiffany grew up in Marion, graduated from the University of Iowa and then went on to become a dental assistant. She worked as a dental assistant in Bettendorf for six years before moving back to Cedar Rapids in 2010 when she began work at Family SmileCare Center. She is a registered dental assistant with x-ray certification. Tiffany is married and enjoys time with family and friends, reading, travel, cooking and the outdoors.
Rechelle: Assistant
Rechelle grew up in Tama-Toledo, IA. She graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in Marshalltown Community College in 2000 with certification in Dental X-rays. She married her highschool sweetheart Ben in 2004. She began working with Dr. Maikon and Dr. Stodola in 2007 as a Dental Assistant. In 2008, she began working with E4D crown design system at Family SmileCare Center and became a Certified CAD-CAM Dental Designer. 2009, Rechelle became an Integration Specialist with E4D, where she trains other offices to use the E4D same day crown system. Rechelle and Ben have a daughter Violet and live in Keystone. In her free time she likes to read, travel, and spend time with her family.
Kim: Office
Kim is a graduate of Benton Community and Kirkwood Community College. Kim’s smile is the one you see first when you enter the office and the voice you hear when you make a call. After trying to decipher your insurance benefits, she enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and snowmobiling with her son and daughter. Kim has been in the dental field for 15 years and with our office since 2001.
