Nothing can take the place of a healthy set of natural teeth. But when disease or an accident ends in tooth loss, it’s good to know that there are options for restoring your smile. Many patients choose implants to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or to support a full set of dentures. Dental Implants are posts that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw, where they act as the “root” to support the replacement tooth or teeth.
Dental Implants are a three-step process. First, Drs. Maikon and Stodola work with Oral Surgeons or Periodontists to place an implant in your jaw and then the bone is allowed to heal around the implant. Second, we place an abutment that fits inside the implant - the link between the implant and artificial tooth. Third, the replacement tooth is placed or denture made to fit on the abutment.
