Our office is tailored to provide you with unique orthodontic treatment options including:
- • Metal Braces
- • Clear Braces
- • Clear Aligners and Invisalign
With removable appliance orthodontic treatment, custom-made, clear plastic aligners are used to gradually shift teeth into the desired position and alignment. Aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours per day to be effective, and are removed for eating and drinking. Due to the clear plastic, they are virtually invisible, making them an attractive option to patients who wish to straighten their teeth in an inconspicuous manner. Total treatment time varies from patient to patient, and the amount of time aligners are worn. Most patients wear their aligners for approximately a year before achieving the desired results. Our dentists monitor all orthodontic patients regularly to ensure teeth are moving and straightening properly, and that oral hygiene is adequate.
Straighter teeth have many benefits:
- Healthier Teeth and Gums – Properly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowded, crooked, or spaced too far apart. Braces can make it easier to properly care for your teeth once the treatment is complete. Good oral hygiene reduces plaque buildup thus reducing the chance for tooth decay and gum disease.
- Improved Chewing and Speech – Correcting the position of teeth can lead to better placement of the tongue and alignment of teeth, allowing for better chewing ability and speech quality.
- Decreased Risk of Dental Trauma and Abnormal Wear – Properly aligned teeth are in position to function as nature intended, thus relieving pressure on just a few teeth or correcting a bite that will wear down certain teeth before others.
Straighter teeth may help you feel less self-conscious and more confident.
Family SmileCare Center offers many options to straighten your teeth and improve your smile.
Early Treatment Orthodontics
This treatment is for children ages 7-10 implemented to address a specific issue that should be corrected before all the permanent teeth have erupted. For example, a tooth that is in cross bite or has no room to erupt due to severe crowding, or a small upper jaw that needs to be expanded. It is important to correct this early on to give the remaining teeth space to come in, and encourage proper jaw growth and position.
Conventional Braces
This is the most well-known orthodontic treatment. Braces are still the most effective treatment option for crowding or dramatic spaces between permanent teeth.
Adult treatment
Many adults face a relapse from precious braces and want their teeth straight again. Some never had braces and simply want straight teeth as an adult. This can be accomplished with conventional braces on just a few teeth, braces on all the teeth, or clear aligners.
We will discuss the benefits and costs of conventional braces and removable orthodontic appliances, and what the best solution is for you based on your dentition and circumstance. Call for an appointment today.
